Bedell Bahia Parlor Adirondack Spruce–Brazilian Rosewood Natural Finish

Handcrafted in Oregon, USA — featuring century-aged Brazilian rosewood with SITES certification for international shipping

The Bedell Bahia Parlor represents the pinnacle of acoustic guitar craftsmanship — handmade in Oregon, USA using century-aged tonewoods that tell a story as rich as their sound. Each Bahia is accompanied by a SITES certificate, ensuring full legal documentation for international ownership and transport of its rare, pre-convention Brazilian rosewood.

Over half a century ago, a small church ornament company near Madrid, Spain, received a shipment of Brazilian rosewood logs from Northeastern Brazil. Stored in ideal Spanish conditions, these logs aged naturally for decades — the sap crystallized, internal stresses relaxed, and the cellulose matured — transforming into what Bedell calls “music wood” of unparalleled resonance and depth.

When Bedell Guitars acquired this collection from Madinter in 2013, they inherited one of the rarest and most storied stocks of tonewood in the world. Each piece is legally harvested and documented, predating both the 1972 CITES convention and the 1992 endangered species designation. The result is an instrument that channels the soul of pre-war guitars — vibrant, responsive, and full of character.

To complement the power and harmonic richness of Brazilian rosewood, Bedell paired it with a solid Adirondack spruce top, prized for its dynamic range, clarity, and headroom. The combination produces extraordinary tonal balance — deep, defined lows and sparkling, articulate highs — making the Bahia Parlor ideal for fingerstyle players and nuanced performances.

Appointed with a Honduran mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, koa binding, and mosaic pin inlays, this limited-edition instrument is both visually and sonically breathtaking. Complete with Waverly slotted gold tuners with ebony buttons and a Bedell Custom Ameritage case, the Bahia Parlor stands as one of the finest heirloom guitars ever built.
