This Schecter has a visually striking neck-thru-body design that also helps produce long-sustaining notes with increased midrange. The body is mahogany and is joined to a resonant 5-ply maple and walnut neck via an ultra-access neck joint. The silky-smooth ebony fretboard has 22 extra jumbo frets along its full 25.5" scale length. Schecter locking tuners adorn the peghead. The truss rod cover features the guitarist's signature.

Dan Donegan selected specific Seymour Duncan pickups for the Ultra DD. A custom shop "El Diablo" in the bridge position provides pronounced upper mids and sweet,rounded highs,while the neck position SH-1N offers late-'50s,vintage correct,humbucker sound ranging from warm clean tones to full and bright distorted ones. The result is a guitar that can handle a variety of styles and playing techniques,just like the man himself.
