Frequently asked questions
Are these two products compatible or complementary?
No. The Drum Set Session I is a wired microphone system for capturing acoustic drums. The CU4000 is a charger for wireless microphone batteries. They do not work together.
What skill level do I need for each product?
The Drum Set Session I is designed for intermediate, advanced, and professional users who understand drum miking placement and mixing. The CU4000 is a straightforward accessory requiring no technical expertise—users only need compatible AKG wireless systems.
Which product should a home recordist choose?
The Drum Set Session I is rated as 'not ideal' for home recording on a budget due to its professional pricing and high SPL design. The CU4000 is not a recording tool at all; it is purely for charging batteries in wireless systems.
What makes the Drum Set Session I suitable for touring?
It includes a compact aluminum case for transport, rugged metal construction, and industry-standard XLR connectors that work with any professional mixing setup anywhere. The CU4000 is small enough for road cases but only solves the battery problem for wireless-dependent tours.
