Frequently asked questions
Which guitar is better for metal and high-gain playing?
The Sun Valley Super Shredder FR-S is purpose-built for metal with its EMG hot pickups, Floyd Rose tremolo for tuning stability during aggressive playing, and articulate bridge tones designed for punchy rhythm and sustained lead work.
Can the Corsair-12 handle drop tunings and heavy styles?
No—the Corsair-12 is optimized for studio sessions, live performance, indie, and rock. Its semi-hollow design and warm tubebucker pickups are not engineered for heavy downtuning or metal applications where the Sun Valley Shredder excels.
What is the key structural difference?
The Sun Valley Super Shredder FR-S uses a bolt-on mahogany body with Floyd Rose Special tremolo, while the Corsair-12 features set-neck construction on a maple semi-hollow body. Set-neck typically provides more sustain; bolt-on with Floyd Rose prioritizes tremolo functionality and fast neck access.
Which has more versatile pickup options?
The Sun Valley Super Shredder FR-S offers dual-mode electronics with a Sustainiac neck pickup for harmonic textures not found on the Corsair-12, which uses fixed Schecter Diamond Tubebuckers optimized for warm, articulate semi-hollow tones.
