Frequently asked questions
What's the main hardware difference between these two?
The Omen Extreme-6 uses a Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-thru body design for maximum sustain and stability, requiring no tremolo maintenance. The Damien-6 FR features a Floyd Rose Special Hot Rod bridge, enabling dive bombs and whammy effects but demanding more tuning attention and setup knowledge.
Which pickup set is hotter for high-gain metal?
The Damien-6 FR's Schecter Diamond Heretic pickups are specifically designed as high-output for modern metal and gain-heavy applications. The Omen Extreme-6's Diamond Plus pickups deliver articulate, balanced tone better suited to versatile hard rock and progressive contexts.
Why is the Damien-6 FR cheaper if it has a Floyd Rose bridge?
The Damien-6 FR is listed as B-stock, meaning it has minor cosmetic imperfections or packaging issues but full functionality. Both guitars share similar construction quality and scale length; the price difference reflects condition grade, not feature compromise.
Which guitar is better for drop tunings and experimental tuning stability?
The Damien-6 FR's Floyd Rose Special Hot Rod bridge excels at drop tunings and maintains pitch stability across extreme tuning scenarios. The Omen Extreme-6's Tune-O-Matic is simpler and more forgiving but less suited to frequent alternate tuning experimentation.
