The first thing I noticed is that the instrument needed very little set up right out of the box and was still close to being in tune.
The fingerboard is flat, which is crazy. There's no perceivable curve at all. I sighted the neck and didn't notice any roundness or bowing. It played surprisingly well right out of the box. The action is just a touch high, but nothing that can't be adjusted to preference. They even included allen keys to make adjustments if desired.
I bought it for the same reason everyone else did; it's a cool collector's item, but damn, it plays really well. I've never liked active pickups but the EMG actually sounds killer. The guitar is all business if you're a metal guy like me.
None of the dicking around with choosy tone settings or neck pick ups. Just plug and shred. Perfect for a little Necrophagist noodlings The Faceless frolicking. A really fun instrument.
The machine heads all seem surprisingly good quality and the nut I didn't check out super closely yet, but she holds tune well, is fairly light and has a really unique feel to her.
Las Vegas Guitars also did me solid on the price and were super fast on shipping. I'm going to purchase more guitars from them in the future and give them a 5 star on EBay. The guitar is a great value and easily worth the purchase price.
