Frequently asked questions
Do I need the entire three-piece set, or can I use just one pickup?
The YJM Fury is a loaded pickguard assembly ready to drop in as-is. The Hot Chicken Stack is sold as a complete three-piece set (neck, middle, bridge), so you get all three pickups together.
Which is better for rhythm playing versus lead?
The YJM Fury is specifically voiced for lead work with upper-midrange emphasis. The Hot Chicken Stack is designed for balanced performance across all three positions, making it more versatile for switching between rhythm and lead without tonal shifts.
Are both pickups hum-canceling?
Yes, both use stacked coil Stack design technology to eliminate 60-cycle hum while maintaining single-coil character and responsiveness.
What's the main difference in magnet construction?
The YJM Fury uses Alnico V Rod magnets with specific DC resistances (25.5 kΩ neck, 25.7 kΩ bridge) tuned for Yngwie's signature tone. The Hot Chicken Stack uses A5 chamfered rod magnets designed for consistent punchy articulation across the frequency spectrum.
