Frequently asked questions
Why can't I compare these two pickups directly?
Product B lists 'EMG SAV Active Single Coil Pickup in Ivory,' but this exact model does not appear in EMG's verified catalog. EMG makes several active single-coils in ivory—SA, SA-X, S, S-X, and SV—but no 'SAV' ivory variant is documented. The model name must be confirmed to provide accurate specifications and a fair comparison.
Is the EMG SAV in white a good beginner pickup?
Yes. The SAV is rated for beginner through professional skill levels and delivers bright, articulate tones suitable for clean styles, pop, and rock. Its low noise and balanced 0.7 V RMS output make it reliable and easy to integrate into most rigs.
What battery life should I expect from the white SAV?
The EMG SAV draws 240 microamps at 9V and delivers approximately 1000 hours of battery life per charge, which translates to months of typical use before replacement is needed.
How do I proceed if I want an ivory version?
Confirm the correct EMG model name for the ivory finish (SA, SA-X, S, S-X, or SV) with the retailer or EMG directly, then a valid spec-to-spec comparison with the white SAV can be completed.
