Frequently asked questions
Is there any tonal difference between Chrome and Gold finishes?
No. Both versions use the same ceramic magnet, X Series preamp, active VLPF tone control, and internal electronics. The finish is purely cosmetic and does not affect sound.
Which is better for studio recording?
Both are equally suitable for studio work. Both offer the same bright, articulate tone with low noise and high dynamic range. Choice comes down to which finish you prefer visually in photos or on camera.
Do both come with complete installation hardware?
Yes. Both versions include the 25k volume pot, active tone pot, battery bus, stereo output jack, mounting hardware, cables, and solderless connectors. Installation and ease-of-use are identical.
Which skill level should use these pickups?
Both versions support beginner through professional players. The Chrome is marketed more toward advanced/metal players, while Gold emphasizes broader use cases, but technically both suit any skill level.
