Frequently asked questions
Can I play standard tuning on the Baritone?
Technically yes, but the 27-inch scale and 42mm nut are optimized for downtuned and extended-range play. String tension will feel loose compared to a standard-scale guitar in standard tuning, making it impractical for traditional playing.
Which guitar is better for metal?
Both are excellent for metal. The Baritone excels in extreme drop tunings and prog-metal contexts; the QM suits traditional and modern hard rock/metal with its standard scale, semi-hollow resonance, and aggressive EMG output.
What's the main tone difference between Fishman Fluence and EMG pickups?
Fishman Fluence offers versatile modern articulation with switchable voicing circuits; EMG delivers high-output aggression with immediate punch. Fluence is more flexible; EMG is more straightforward and punchy.
Why does the QM have a semi-hollow body?
The semi-hollow design lightens the instrument while adding natural resonance and warmth, ideal for live performance and recording versatility. The Baritone is solid-body to optimize sustain for downtuned, aggressive tones.
