Sound & Tone
The all-mahogany body with set-thru neck construction gives the BK-600 thick, sustaining low-end and enough resonance to stay audible in dense, layered arrangements, while the Macassar ebony fingerboard keeps note attack tight and defined. Its Mojotone Hellbender humbuckers lean toward heavy, aggressive voicings with a menacing bottom end, yet clean up into articulate, complex tones, and the push-pull coil-splits on both volume and tone thin things out to brighter single-coil territory. The 24.75" scale makes bends and vibrato feel loose and expressive, suiting hard rock, metal, and riff-driven playing that also calls for lead work and cleaner passages.
ESP LTD BK-600 Bill Kelliher Guitar in Vintage Silver Sunburst
Bill Kelliher's signature model delivers a responsive, comfortable playing experience with its Thin-U neck contour and slightly shorter 24.75" scale that makes bending and vibrato effortless without sacrificing power. The set-thru mahogany construction creates seamless neck-to-body integration, yielding sustain and resonance that cuts through dense arrangements. This is a workhorse instrument built for aggressive playing styles and heavy, articulate tones.
Playability & Feel
The three-piece mahogany neck paired with a Macassar ebony fingerboard and 22 extra-jumbo frets creates a fast, comfortable platform for complex voicings and lead work. A 42mm nut width provides ample string spacing, while the 350mm fingerboard radius supports both aggressive picking and smooth transitions across the board without crowding.
Tone & Live Reliability
The signature Mojotone Hellbender humbuckers with nickel covers deliver raw, menacing low-end paired with articulate, complex clean tones. Dual push-pull coil-split controls on both volume and tone knobs unlock single-coil voicings, while LTD locking tuners and TonePros locking bridge and tailpiece ensure tuning stability and precise intonation through demanding performances.

Frequently Asked Questions
What tuning and drop-tuning range does the BK-600 handle?
The 24.75" scale length and extra-jumbo frets support drop tunings and lower pitch applications common in metal and hard rock. Pair it with appropriate gauge strings for your target tuning to maintain playability and intonation.
Can I get single-coil tones from the Mojotone Hellbender humbuckers?
Yes. Dual push-pull coil-split controls on both the volume and tone knobs unlock single-coil voicings from each humbucker, giving you articulate cleans and complex tonal variety within the same guitar.
What makes the set-thru construction different from a bolt-on or glued neck?
Set-thru construction extends the neck wood fully through the body, creating seamless neck-to-body integration that enhances sustain and resonance compared to bolt-on designs, critical for the heavy, articulate character this guitar is built for.
Is the 42mm nut width suitable for aggressive picking and complex voicings?
Yes. The 42mm nut width paired with the Thin-U neck contour, 350mm fingerboard radius, and 22 extra-jumbo frets supports both aggressive picking technique and smooth transitions without crowding, accommodating complex lead work across the fingerboard.
What hardware keeps this guitar in tune during demanding performances?
LTD locking tuners with nickel hardware and a TonePros locking bridge and tailpiece ensure tuning stability through heavy playing, bending, and vibrato without drift during long sets or recording sessions.
