Description
ESP LTD EX-201 Black Satin Electric Guitar B-Stock
The EX-201 is built for gigging musicians who need an instrument that stays in tune, plays fast, and cuts through live mix without fuss. Set-neck construction and a thin U-profile neck contour make it comfortable for long sets and quick position shifts, while the black satin finish eliminates sweat-induced stickiness during sustained stage time. This is a road-tested platform that delivers reliable performance night after night.
Playability & Feel
The 24.75-inch scale length and 350mm fingerboard radius balance responsiveness for rhythm work with the articulation needed for lead lines, and the fingerboard stays playable across the full range without dead zones. The 42mm molded nut gives you proper string spacing for clean picking and muting control, while the thin U neck contour and roasted jatoba fingerboard reduce hand fatigue on three-hour shows and deliver a smooth, stable feel that won't shift with temperature or humidity swings at the venue.
Tone & Electronics
Mahogany body and 3-piece maple neck produce a warm, punchy tone with real sustain—essential for riffs that sit in the mix and solos that project to the back of the room. The ESP-designed LH-150B bridge pickup with antique nickel cover runs passive electronics; the master volume push/pull coil-split lets you dial from full humbucker thickness to single-coil snap without reaching for extra pedals, making this guitar practical across multiple setlists and styles.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does B-Stock mean for this guitar?
B-Stock means this EX-201 is fully functional with minor cosmetic imperfections from open-box or floor display use. These marks are purely superficial and have zero impact on playability, tone, or structural integrity. You receive the complete manufacturer warranty and full confidence in its performance.
Can I get single-coil tones from this guitar?
Yes. The master volume features a push/pull coil-split that switches the LH-150B humbucker from full thickness to single-coil articulation, expanding your tonal range across metal, hard rock, blues, and rock styles.
Is the neck comfortable for fast playing?
Absolutely. The thin U-profile neck contour, 24.75-inch scale, and roasted jatoba fingerboard are designed specifically for speed and reduced fatigue, making fast passages and high-fret access easy during long sessions.
What genres is this guitar best suited for?
The EX-201 excels in hard rock, metal, blues, and rock. Its warm, sustain-rich tone and coil-split versatility make it less ideal for jazz, folk, or worship applications.
How does this compare to other budget metal guitars?
The EX-201 competes with models like the Schecter Solo-II, Dean Vendetta, and Ibanez ART320. It stands out for its set-neck construction, roasted jatoba fingerboard, and coil-split versatility at a competitive price point.
Do I pay sales tax on this order?
We collect sales tax only on orders shipped to California. Orders shipped to any other US state are charged $0 sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. Marketplaces such as eBay, Reverb and Amazon collect sales tax in nearly every state as marketplace facilitators no matter who the seller is, so the same item at the same price costs less bought direct. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included. Some states ask buyers to self-report use tax on out-of-state purchases.
