    Frequently Asked Questions

What size venue or space is the JBL AC299 designed for?

The AC299 is engineered for live venues where accuracy and projection matter—from intimate jazz clubs to mid-to-large rock stages. Its balanced, transparent character and high projection make it suitable for both front-of-house and monitor mixing applications in professional settings.

How does the 12-inch woofer handle bass in a live mix?

The woofer delivers a tight, articulate low end that never muddies your mix, providing definition and clarity even in dense arrangements. The two-way design ensures the low end stays punchy and responsive without sacrificing the midrange and vocal clarity.

Is the AC299 genre-specific, or does it work across styles?

The AC299 offers a balanced, transparent tone that adapts beautifully to any genre—jazz, rock, and everything in between—without imposing its own sonic character. Its natural presence and accurate frequency response make it equally at home mixing live events or supporting a wide range of musical styles.

How does this compare to the Electro-Voice ZLX12P or Yamaha DXR12?

All three are professional two-way systems with 12-inch woofers, but the AC299 emphasizes transparent, uncolored response and tight low-end articulation. Compare the specific output, frequency response curves, and onboard processing features of each based on your venue size and mixing style.

What kind of build quality should I expect for touring?

The AC299 features robust, professional-grade components designed to be a dependable workhorse on the road. Its road-tested construction means it's built to handle nightly gigging and transport without compromising performance.
