Larrivee Acoustic Guitars - frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Larrivee dreadnought and OM acoustic guitars?
Dreadnought models, like the D-03 or D-40 Legacy, are described as the more powerful choice. OM models, like the OMV-03 and OMV-40 Legacy, offer a more balanced voice. Both shapes are available with solid-wood tops, so the decision mostly comes down to the sound and feel you prefer.
Which Larrivee acoustic is best for a first serious guitar?
The 03 models, such as the D-03 and OMV-03 with solid spruce tops, sit toward the accessible end of the range and make a sensible step up. If you want a long-term keeper, the 40 Legacy models with solid spruce and mahogany come next, with limited runs like the OM-44 Silver Oak at the top.
Does Larrivee make left-handed or 12-string acoustic guitars?
Yes to both. The range includes a left-handed D-40 Legacy with a solid spruce and mahogany build, so southpaws don't have to compromise. There are also cutaway 12-string dreadnought options, such as the DV-03ME and DV-03RE Custom models, alongside the 6-string guitars. Every instrument is set up and professionally packed before it ships.
