Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between this crash and Sabian's other AAX models?
The X-Plosion series is specifically tuned for attack and projection with a punchy, fuller voice optimized for rock and metal. The 16" medium-thin weight makes it more responsive under the stick while still maintaining commanding volume and clarity compared to heavier AAX crashes.
Will this crash work for styles other than rock and metal?
This crash is designed primarily for rock, metal, and hard rock where bright, cutting definition is valued. It is not recommended for jazz or folk styles, which typically benefit from warmer, more sustaining crash tones.
How does the medium-thin weight affect playability?
The medium-thin classification makes this crash responsive and quick to react under the stick, allowing for faster articulation. This responsiveness pairs with its bright character to deliver explosive attacks in high-volume live settings.
What finish does this cymbal have and does it affect the sound?
The brilliant finish provides both visual appeal and acoustic consistency. Sabian's multi-rolling, hammering, lathing, and aging processes ensure the bright sonic profile is maintained throughout the cymbal's life, backed by a two-year warranty.
