Frequently Asked Questions

No, the AAX X-Plosion is specifically voiced for hard rock, metal, and djent applications where bright attack and cutting projection are priorities. Jazz and folk players should consider other Sabian series with warmer, more complex sustain.
What skill level do I need to play this cymbal effectively?
The AAX X-Plosion is designed for intermediate, advanced, and professional players who can take advantage of its responsive dynamics and articulation. Its lively character and quick stick definition reward controlled technique.
How does the 20" size and medium-thin weight affect the sound?
The 20" diameter provides a balanced crash size suitable for most drum kits, while the medium-thin weight classification delivers quick response and immediate articulation. This combination makes it responsive to dynamic playing and ideal for both tight accents and open crashes.
Will this crash work well in a live setting with other loud instruments?
Yes, the bright attack and cutting projection are specifically engineered to project clearly in dense mixes and loud live environments without overwhelming the mix. The balanced decay ensures it maintains definition across high-volume settings.
What does the brilliant finish do?
The brilliant finish enhances the cymbal's visual appeal and aesthetic while the B8 bronze material delivers the core tonal characteristics. It is a cosmetic choice that does not affect the sonic performance.
