Schecter John Browne Tao Guitars | LV Guitars

John Browne plays progressive metal with Monuments, and the Tao line was built for that kind of playing. Pick one up and the main thing to notice on the seven and eight-string models is the fanned-fret layout. The multiscale design is meant to let the low strings stay tight and defined while the high strings keep a familiar feel under your fingers.

On stage, the Fishman Fluence pickups are what shape the tone. Heavy, low-tuned rhythm parts and fast lead lines are the target here. Lefties are covered too, with left-handed versions of the Tao-6, Tao-7 and Tao-8 rather than a compromise on a flipped righty.

Choose your string count based on the music you play: a six for a more conventional setup, or a seven or eight for extended range. Signature-model fans will find Ozone Burst and Satin Trans Purple finishes here. LV Guitars stocks the series in roughly the $1,599 to $1,849 range.
