Description

BSS BLU-806 Networked Signal Processor

The BSS BLU-806 is a professional-grade networked audio processor built into a compact single-rack chassis, delivering enterprise-level signal management and control for live sound operators and system engineers who need absolute reliability and scalability. This unit excels in large-format systems—live venues, touring installations, broadcast, and life-safety applications—where fault tolerance and extensive I/O flexibility are non-negotiable.

Networking & I/O Architecture

The BLU-806 handles 64 × 64 channels of simultaneous Dante/AES67 audio across dual Dante ports with automatic failover protection, plus a separate Ethernet port dedicated to control traffic. Four hot-swappable card slots accept analog, digital, AEC, and telephony I/O modules—scaling from 16 analog inputs through 16 analog outputs and beyond—making this processor adaptable to almost any topology. On the road or at the venue, you get the flexibility to configure I/O on the fly without pulling gear offline.

Processing Power & Control

An 800 MHz signal processor runs audio across a 256-channel low-latency, fault-tolerant digital bus, ensuring transparent, rock-solid performance even in mission-critical environments and high-pressure live setups. Twelve control inputs and six logic outputs (GPIO) let you integrate hardware control surfaces and relay-driven devices, while the front-panel LCD provides direct access to essential parameters and metering when you need to troubleshoot or adjust on the spot.

Key Features

  • 64 × 64 channels Dante/AES67 audio (simultaneous transmit and receive)
  • Primary and Secondary Dante ports for network redundancy and fault tolerance
  • Separate Ethernet port for control-traffic isolation
  • Four card slots supporting up to 16 analog inputs, 16 digital inputs, 16 AEC inputs, 16 analog outputs, 16 digital outputs, and 4 telephone connections
  • Software-configurable analog input gain with 6dB steps up to +48dB per channel
  • Per-channel phantom power on analog input cards
  • 800 MHz signal processing with 256-channel low-latency digital audio bus
  • 12 Control Inputs and 6 Logic Outputs (GPIO)
  • Front-panel LCD display
  • 19" single rack-space chassis
  • EN 54-16 compliant for life-safety system integration

The BLU-806 combines exceptional processing headroom, network resilience, and modular I/O design—essential tools for sound engineers and system operators managing large-scale, mission-critical audio systems where downtime isn't an option.
