What's included in the box?

The package includes the EMG 58 pickup, a 25k volume potentiometer, 25k tone potentiometer, battery bus, stereo output jack, dual pickup in/out bus connectors, mounting screws, springs, and connecting cables—everything you need for a complete retrofit.

How difficult is installation?

The solderless quick-connect system requires no soldering or special tools; connections plug together directly. This makes installation and pickup swaps straightforward for players of any skill level.

What genres and styles suit this pickup best?

The EMG 58 excels in high-gain metal, hard rock, studio sessions, and live performance; it is not recommended for traditional jazz or acoustic folk, where its tight, articulate character does not align with those tonal aesthetics.

How long does the battery last?

The active design is engineered for low power consumption, ensuring years of reliable operation from a single battery before replacement is needed.

Can I use this in bridge or neck position?

Yes, the EMG 58 is compatible with both bridge and neck position installation on 6-string electric guitars.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?

Sales tax is collected only on orders shipped to California; orders shipped to any other US state are not charged sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. Marketplaces collect sales tax as the facilitator in most states, so the same listed price can cost more there. Buyers remain responsible for any use tax their state applies. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included.
