How does the EMG 60-8H compare to the EMG 81-8H?

The 60-8H delivers a more balanced midrange with greater articulation and note separation, while the 81 is more aggressive and higher-output. The 60 is better suited for clarity across complex chords and extended-range voicings, whereas the 81 prioritizes raw power and cutting through dense mixes with punch.

Will this fit my eight-string guitar?

The EMG 60-8H fits any standard eight-string humbucker rout. If your guitar has an eight-string humbucker cavity, this pickup will drop in; verify your routing matches standard eight-string humbucker dimensions before ordering.

What does the solderless quick-connect harness do?

EMG's quick-connect harness eliminates the need to solder wires during installation, streamlining the swap for players with basic electronics comfort. All connections are push-fit, making the job faster and reducing soldering risk.

How long does the 9V battery last?

The description does not specify battery life. Battery duration depends on playing volume, frequency, and output usage; contact EMG or your retailer for typical expected battery lifespan in regular use.

Is this pickup suitable for jazz or blues?

No. The EMG 60-8H is voiced for metal, progressive, and drop-tuning applications. Jazz and blues players typically prefer passive designs or pickups optimized for those genres' tonal requirements.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?

Sales tax is collected only on orders shipped to California; orders shipped to any other US state are not charged sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. At a typical 7% rate that is an estimated $10 less at checkout than the same listed price on a marketplace, which collects sales tax as the facilitator in most states. Buyers remain responsible for any use tax their state applies. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included.
