EMG 60-8XH 8-String Active Humbucker Pickup in Black
The EMG 60-8XH delivers the balanced output and articulate midrange character of EMG's 60-8 design while introducing the dynamic headroom and touch sensitivity of the X preamp circuit. This pickup excels in extended-range applications where clarity and controlled aggression matter equally, making it a natural choice for modern metal and progressive styles on eight-string instruments.
Tone & Electronics
This pickup combines the output, clarity, and top-end presence of the original 60-8 with the added headroom and dynamic control provided by the X preamp. The ceramic magnets with steel pole pieces establish a focused, defined frequency response suited to both rhythmic definition and lead articulation on eight-string guitars.
Installation & Configuration
The short shaft configuration fits standard eight-string humbucker routing without modification. A solderless quick-connect harness is included, allowing straightforward installation and future adjustments without permanent wiring commitments. The pickup operates on a single 9V battery, keeping the power requirement simple and accessible.
