Description
EMG 60 Active Humbucker Pickup in Brushed Gold
The EMG 60 delivers a refined, articulate voice with enough output to cut through a mix without sacrificing definition. This covered humbucker balances vintage warmth with modern clarity, making it equally at home in classic rock, blues, and contemporary styles. The brushed gold finish adds visual distinction while the active circuitry ensures consistent performance across any signal chain.
Tone & Electronics
Ceramic magnets paired with 1.0V RMS output and a 3.0V peak output voltage produce a focused, punchy tone with excellent articulation. The 2.95 kHz resonant frequency keeps the midrange prominent while maintaining clarity in both lead and rhythm contexts, and the low -89 dBV output noise floor ensures quiet operation at any volume level. On stage, you'll hear a pickup that sits in the mix without muddiness or excessive brightness.
Design & Build
Active operation requires minimal current draw at 80 microamps @ 9V, delivering approximately 3000 hours of battery life per cell—more than enough to carry you through an extended gigging schedule or tour. The pickup ships with a Quik-connect cable, pre-wired split shaft volume/tone control set, output jack, battery clip set, and mounting hardware—everything needed for a straightforward installation. No surprises, no downtime.

How long does a 9V battery last?
Active operation draws only 80 microamps at 9V, providing approximately 3000 hours of battery life per cell—roughly 125 days of continuous use or several months of typical playing.
Is this pickup too hot or noisy for blues and classic rock?
No. The EMG 60A is designed specifically for classic rock and blues, balancing vintage warmth with modern clarity. Its 1.0V RMS output and -89 dBV noise floor deliver definition without excessive gain coloration, letting your playing dynamics and tone shape through.
What comes in the box?
