Description
EMG 707X 7-String Active Soapbar Pickup in Black
The EMG 707X delivers articulate, high-headroom response across all seven strings with minimal noise and maximum clarity. Built on EMG's newly engineered X-series preamp architecture, this active humbucker handles extended-range tuning with authority and definition. The solderless installation system eliminates wiring complexity, making retrofit and maintenance straightforward.
Design & Build
The pickup uses Alnico V magnets housed in a soapbar casing with the standard EMG 35 footprint, fitting any instrument designed for conventional soapbar pickups. The 100% solderless wiring platform includes a split shaft volume/tone control set, output jack, battery clip set, and mounting hardware—no soldering required for installation.
Live Performance & Electronics
The X-series preamp provides expanded headroom and controlled dynamics across the full frequency spectrum, particularly crucial for 7-string work where low B-string definition and punch cut through live mixes. The active circuit requires a 9V battery (approximately 3000 hours typical operating life) and delivers consistent output without the signal degradation common to passive designs—reliable onstage for night after night of gigging.
