What's the long-shaft feature for?

The long-shaft design accommodates guitars with extended potentiometer shafts, ensuring proper mechanical fit without requiring any guitar modification. This makes installation straightforward on a wider range of instruments.

Will this work in my humbucker cavity?

Yes. The HA is housed in standard humbucker dimensions and installs directly into any humbucker-routed cavity, integrating seamlessly with your existing electronics and wiring.

Is this pickup good for high-gain metal?

No. The HA is designed for articulate, controlled tones and is not suited for extreme high-gain applications or thick sludge metal styles; it excels in lead playing, clean tones, and precision-driven work.

Does it require any special setup?

The HA requires a 9V battery (not included) to power its active circuitry for noiseless operation. Beyond that, it installs as a direct retrofit with no unusual electronics modifications needed.

How does the white cover affect tone?

The white cover is a cosmetic finish choice and does not affect the pickup's tone. It delivers the same articulate, noise-free single-coil character regardless of cover color.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?

Sales tax is collected only on orders shipped to California; orders shipped to any other US state are not charged sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. Marketplaces collect sales tax as the facilitator in most states, so the same listed price can cost more there. Buyers remain responsible for any use tax their state applies. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included.

EMG HA Long Shaft Active Single Coil Pickup in White

The EMG HA delivers articulate, noise-free single-coil character in a compact humbucker-sized housing, making it an ideal retrofit for players seeking clarity and definition without hum. This active design pairs crisp treble response with controlled dynamics, suiting everything from clean tones to driven styles that demand precision on stage and in the studio.

Tone & Live Performance

Built as an active single-coil design, the HA produces the brightness and snap associated with single-coil pickups while eliminating 60-cycle hum through active circuitry. The controlled output and balanced harmonic profile cut through a mix in live settings, offering articulation that remains tight across gain levels and holds its own alongside drums, bass, and full band dynamics.

Housed in a white cover cap with standard humbucker dimensions, this pickup installs into any humbucker-routed cavity and integrates seamlessly with existing electronics, making it a reliable choice for gigging musicians who need a straightforward swap.
