What does the two pickup mode system do?

The MM5TW offers two independent modes: ceramic and steel humbucker, plus single coil. You can switch between them without hardware modifications to access contrasting tonal palettes—from thick, punchy lows to articulate, snappy mids and highs.

Is this a direct replacement for my five-string Music Man bass?

Yes. The pickup measures 111.8 × 21.6 × 49.1 mm and fits the Music Man large profile cavity with no routing required. Maximum recommended string width is 78.23 mm (3.08"). It includes all necessary electronics and mounting hardware.

What genres and playing styles is this pickup best suited for?

The MM5TW excels in funk, metal, rock, and modern bass applications. Its articulate low end, aggressive midrange, and punchy lows make it less ideal for traditional jazz or folk playing styles.

What comes included with the pickup?

The package includes the active pickup, push/pull pot, 25K tone pot, battery bus, stereo output jack, mounting screws, pickup cable, two connect cables, output cable, and battery cable—everything needed for installation.

Does the active preamp affect my signal output?

The built-in active preamp provides consistent output across all settings, reduces the noise floor, and enhances midrange definition, making your signal hot and clean whether you're recording or performing live.
