What comes in the box?

The P60A includes the pickup itself, a stereo jack, 25K volume potentiometer, 25K tone potentiometer, mounting hardware, springs, and EMG's solderless quick-connect cabling system with all connecting cables needed for single or multi-pickup installations.

Do I need to solder this pickup?

No. The EMG solderless quick-connect cabling system handles all connections, so you can install it without soldering if you're using the included potentiometers and hardware.

What genres and styles is this pickup designed for?

The P60A excels in metal, hard rock, and high-gain applications where articulation and clarity matter. Its tight response and minimal hum make it less suited to jazz, blues, and traditional rock where a warmer, more open voice is preferred.

How long does the battery last?

The pickup runs on a single 9V battery with approximately 3000 hours of battery life, so you can expect reliable performance over extended periods before replacement.

Will this fit my P90-routed guitar?

Yes. The P60A is specifically designed in P90 dimensions for direct compatibility with P90 cavities—no routing or modifications needed.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?

We collect sales tax only on orders shipped to California. Orders shipped to any other US state are charged $0 sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. Marketplaces such as eBay, Reverb and Amazon collect sales tax in nearly every state as marketplace facilitators no matter who the seller is, so the same item at the same price costs less bought direct. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included. Some states ask buyers to self-report use tax on out-of-state purchases.

EMG P60A Active P90-Size Humbucker Pickup in Black

The EMG P60A delivers the full output and articulation of an active humbucker in a compact P90-sized form factor, making it a straightforward retrofit for guitars with P90 routing. This pickup combines ceramic magnets with EMG's proven active circuitry to cut through a mix with clarity and punch, without the noise floor associated with passive designs.

Tone & Output Characteristics

Active EMG designs maintain a low noise floor and consistent output across the instrument's frequency range. The P60A uses ceramic magnets to shape its voice toward clarity and definition, suiting genres where articulation matters—rock, metal, and high-gain applications benefit from the tight response and minimal hum even in electrically noisy environments.

Installation & System

The P60A ships with a complete solderless install package: EMG's proprietary quick-connect cabling system eliminates the need to solder pickup leads directly to your electronics. Included are a stereo jack, 25K volume potentiometer, 25K tone potentiometer, mounting hardware, springs, and all connecting cables needed for a single-pickup or multi-pickup EMG system.
