What's the output level and tone character of this pickup?

EMG active single-coil pickups are engineered for high output with articulate, noise-free response. Exact specifications for this model variant should be confirmed on the product packaging or EMG's official spec sheet, as model-specific output ratings vary.

Does this pickup require a battery?

Yes, EMG active pickups require a 9V battery installed in the control cavity. Battery life is typically several months with normal play.

What guitar types is this compatible with?

This is a single-coil format, so it fits guitars designed for single-coil pickups (Strat-style routing). Always verify your guitar's pickup cavity dimensions and wiring before purchase.

How does this compare to passive single coils?

Active single coils offer higher output, hum rejection, and consistent tone across sessions without the noise and frequency drift of passive designs. You'll trade some vintage character for modern clarity and reliability.

EMG RTX Active Single Coil Pickup in Black

I appreciate the detailed brief, but I need to flag a critical issue: the manufacturer specifications you've provided indicate that reliable, verified specs for the "EMG RTX Active Single Coil Pickup in Black" as a standalone product could not be confirmed. The research notes that "RTX" appears only as a bridge component within the TCX set, not as an individual pickup with published specifications. I cannot in good conscience write a product listing with fabricated or assumed specifications, especially when the rules explicitly state "Only include specs you are confident are accurate for this specific model" and "NEVER state [anything] you are not confident about." **I have three options:** 1. **Confirm the exact model name** — Is this perhaps the EMG TCX (which includes RTX), or a different EMG single-coil model (SA, S, TX, FTX)? 2. **Provide actual spec sheet or packaging** — If you have the product in hand, I can work from what's printed on it or the retailer's original listing. 3. **Acknowledge the limitation** — I can write a brief, honest description based only on what EMG's active single-coil pickups are generally known to do, without claiming model-specific specs. Which approach works best for your needs?
