EMG SJCSX Active Jazz Bass Neck Pickup in Black
The EMG SJCSX delivers the responsive, articulate character essential to jazz bass work without the noise floor typical of active electronics. This neck-position pickup combines classic ceramic magnet construction with EMG's X Series preamp, giving you dynamic range that approaches passive feel while preserving the frequency definition and signal clarity that active systems are known for.
Electronics & Tone Character
The X Series active preamp is engineered to reduce the compressed, hi-fi character of conventional active pickups, restoring the natural dynamics of your playing while maintaining superior noise rejection and extended frequency response. This makes the pickup equally at home in studio sessions and live settings where clarity matters.
Installation & Construction
Ceramic magnets with steel pole pieces provide the tonal foundation, while solderless installation simplifies wiring and allows quick swaps without requiring a tech bench. This neck pickup is a single unit designed for straightforward drop-in replacement in compatible bass cavities.
