Will this pickup fit my bass?

The SJX fits standard jazz and precision bass routes and accommodates a maximum string width of 69.2mm. Measure your bass route dimensions (91.19mm long × 18.54mm wide) against the pickup before purchasing to confirm compatibility.

How long does the battery last?

A single 9V battery delivers approximately 3000 hours of use at the SJX's 80 microamps current draw. That translates to roughly four months of regular playing before replacement is needed.

What makes this pickup better for modern bass playing than passive pickups?

The SJX combines low noise (-101 dB floor), articulate midrange clarity at 3.95 kHz resonant frequency, and controlled 2.00V output ideal for slap, pick, and finger techniques. Its active preamp eliminates the hum and phase issues common to passive designs, delivering clean signal transmission to your amp or studio interface.

Is this pickup prewired and ready to install?

Yes, the SJX comes prewired with a solid shaft volume/active tone control, output jack, battery clip, adjustment screws, and EMG Quik-Connect™ cable for fast, reliable installation and setup.
