What output level does this neck pickup deliver, and will it balance well with a bridge pickup?

The Super 77 Neck generates 4.25 V on single-string pluck and peaks at 8.0 V on full strum, positioning it to cut through a mix without overpowering a bridge position. Its controlled output is engineered to work with modern active bridge pickups like the EMG 81 or 85.

Is this pickup suitable for blues and jazz, or is it only for heavy music?

The Super 77 Neck is optimized for metal, progressive, hard rock, and djent styles where high gain and articulation are priorities. Its focused midrange character and punchy response are not designed for the warm, sustaining tones preferred in blues and jazz.

What is the noise floor, and how does it perform in electrically noisy environments?

The Super 77 Neck delivers a -98 dB noise floor at 60 Hz, ensuring clean, hum-free operation even in studios and venues with significant electrical interference. This low-noise design is essential for tracking and performing with heavy distortion without unwanted hum.

How long will a 9V battery last, and what are the installation requirements?

At 350 microamps draw @9V, a single battery delivers approximately 715 hours of continuous use per charge. Installation uses the included Quik-Connect header and mating cable for straightforward wiring and future serviceability.

What materials and construction make this pickup durable?

The Super 77 Neck combines stainless steel construction with copper-wound passive coils and a ceramic magnet, delivering durability for road use and studio sessions. The open-coil active pickup design and plug-on preamp architecture ensure both reliability and easy maintenance.

Electrical Performance & Output

This neck pickup generates a 4.25 V output (string) and peaks at 8.0 V on strum, delivering enough presence to cut through a mix without overwhelming the bridge position. The 3.12 kHz resonant frequency shapes a naturally focused midrange character, while the -98 dB noise floor (60 Hz) ensures clean, hum-free operation even in electrically noisy venues and studios. The 3.1 kOhm output impedance maintains signal integrity through long cable runs and complex signal chains.

Design & Electronics

Built on stainless steel construction with copper-wound passive coils and a plug-on active preamp, this pickup combines durability with straightforward serviceability for road use. The Quik-Connect header with mating cable simplifies installation and future swaps. Power draw remains efficient at 350 microamps @9V, delivering 715 hours of battery life per charge and supporting up to 27 Volts DC maximum supply for expanded headroom.
