Sound & Tone
The single EMG HZ F-H2 passive humbucker keeps things tight and articulate under high gain, favoring clear note separation in fast tremolo riffing and cutting lead lines rather than warm vintage roundness. Neck-thru maple with alder wings and a macassar ebony fingerboard adds long sustain and a crisp attack, while the 25.5" scale keeps low tunings firm and defined. With scalloped upper frets and a double-locking Floyd Rose, it's aimed squarely at high-speed metal, legato and tapping runs, and dive-bomb vibrato work.
ESP LTD Alexi Laiho Arrowhead 20th Anniversary
This Alexi Laiho Arrowhead 20th Anniversary delivers the aggressive playability and lightning-fast responsiveness that defined the legendary Children of Bodom guitarist's signature sound. The thin U-shaped neck and scalloped frets 19-24 make rapid position shifts and tapping passages feel natural, while the neck-thru-body construction provides exceptional sustain and upper-fret access. The distinctive arrowhead body shape combines striking visual presence with genuine ergonomic advantage for seated and standing play alike.
Design & Construction
Built with neck-thru-body construction at a 25.5" scale, this instrument uses a three-piece maple neck paired with alder body wings for optimal resonance and structural stability. The macassar ebony fingerboard features 24 extra-jumbo frets with scalloped frets 19-24, enabling precise intonation and effortless legato work across the upper register. Gold hardware and Grover tuners ensure reliable tuning stability, while the double-locking Floyd Rose 1000 bridge supports aggressive vibrato techniques without pitch drift.

The guitar features a single EMG HZ F-H2 passive pickup with volume control, delivering tight, articulate tones suited to heavy rhythm work and high-gain lead playing. Visually distinctive, the instrument showcases a black finish with yellow bevels, a satin-finished neck with matching yellow bevel detailing, and the COBHC logo, making this 20th anniversary edition instantly recognizable on any stage.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does B-Stock mean for this guitar?
B-Stock means this guitar is fully functional with minor cosmetic imperfections: a light scratch at the tip of the upper horn and a light scratch near the control knob. These marks are purely superficial and have zero impact on playability, tone, or structural integrity. The guitar retains full manufacturer warranty coverage.
Is this guitar suitable for jazz or blues?
No. This is a metal-focused instrument optimized for thrash, hard rock, progressive, and extended-range styles. Its tight, high-gain voice, aggressive sustain, and single EMG HZ passive pickup are designed for modern metal work, not jazz or blues idioms.
What makes the scalloped frets 19-24 valuable?
Scalloped frets in the upper register enable effortless legato work, precise intonation without fretting pressure, and natural rapid position shifts—critical for high-speed lead and tapping passages that define metal guitar technique.
How does the neck-thru construction affect sustain and upper-fret access?
Neck-thru-body construction provides exceptional sustain by eliminating a body seam and allowing continuous vibration through the neck wood into the body wings. It also brings the upper frets closer to the body, making high-register playing more accessible and comfortable.
What pickup does this guitar use?
It features a single EMG HZ F-H2 passive pickup with volume control, designed to deliver tight, articulate tones suited to heavy rhythm work and high-gain lead playing without the noise floor of active electronics.
