Sound & Tone
The mahogany body and neck with set-thru construction give this single-cut a warm, sustaining foundation, while the Macassar ebony fingerboard adds a firm, articulate attack. The EMG 81 bridge and EMG 60 neck active humbuckers push that into tight low-end punch, aggressive mids and cutting treble that stays clear under heavy gain, with the neck position offering a rounder voice for leads and cleaner passages. The 24.75" scale keeps string tension slacker for easier bending, and 24 extra-jumbo frets suit hard rock and metal players moving between chugging rhythm figures and fast lead work.
ESP LTD EC-1000 VB Vintage Black Guitar B-Stock
The EC-1000 VB sits perfectly in the hands with its Thin U neck contour and 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets that feel equally responsive under precision rhythm work and high-speed lead passages. Set-thru construction unlocks smooth upper-fret access and the sustain that powers both studio recordings and live stages. This B-Stock unit shows minor cosmetic imperfections on the body but remains structurally intact with full tonal and playability integrity.
Playability & Construction
Built with set-thru mahogany construction, a 3-piece mahogany neck, and a Macassar ebony fingerboard with a 350mm radius, this guitar delivers warmth and stability with fast response and articulate attack that cuts through any mix. The 24.75" scale length and 42mm nut width support aggressive bending technique and clean articulation across all positions.
Tone & Electronics
The legendary EMG 81 bridge and EMG 60 neck active pickup pairing locks in tight low-end punch, aggressive mids, and cutting highs—a road-tested combination for hard rock and metal players demanding clarity and presence under high gain. Independent volume controls for each pickup, a master tone control, and a 3-way toggle switch let you sculpt your sound without overcomplicating your signal chain.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does B-Stock mean for this guitar?
B-Stock means this unit is fully functional with no structural or tonal defects, but shows minor cosmetic imperfections on the body finish. All playability, electronics, and hardware are intact and perform identically to new condition.
Is this guitar suitable for beginners?
No, the EC-1000 VB is designed for intermediate, advanced, and professional players. The high-output active pickups, fast neck profile, and aggressive tone character are optimized for hard rock and metal playing styles rather than foundational learning.
What genres does this guitar excel in?
The EC-1000 VB is built for hard rock, metal, and thrash metal. The tight low end, aggressive mids, cutting highs, and articulate attack make it less suited for jazz, blues, or folk applications.
How does the set-thru construction affect playability and tone?
Set-thru construction means the mahogany neck extends through the body, providing smooth upper-fret access and enhanced sustain that rewards both precise studio recording and demanding live performance.
What active pickups come installed?
The bridge position houses an EMG 81 and the neck position houses an EMG 60, a proven pairing for metal that delivers clarity and definition under high-gain amplification. Each pickup has independent volume control for flexible tonal shaping.
