The cutaway dreadnought body with X bracing delivers the broad projection and low-end push expected of a full-size flattop, while the flamed maple top adds a bright, tightly focused attack that keeps strummed chords from turning muddy. Mahogany back and sides warm things up underneath, and the coated bronze strings lean toward a smooth, even top end rather than a raw jangle, making it well suited to rhythm playing, singer-songwriter accompaniment, country and folk. Plugged in, the Fishman Sonicore under-saddle pickup and Ibanez SST Shape Shifter preamp let you shape the amplified voice for stage use, and the cutaway keeps the upper frets available for lead lines and higher-register fills.
