Sound & Tone
The swamp ash body with burl maple top and 35" scale gives this five-string a tight, focused low end with firm B-string definition, while the ebony fingerboard and string-through bridge add snap and clarity to note attack. EMG's 40PX-CS neck and 40JX-CS bridge pickups run through a blend control and 3-band active EQ, so you can dial anything from thick fingerstyle warmth to scooped, aggressive slap and pick tones with plenty of output. It suits modern rock and metal, funk and slap playing, and session work where a clean, articulate active voice and low-B reach are needed.
Schecter RIOT-5 Electric Bass in Satin Aurora Burst
The RIOT-5 sits perfectly in the hands with its slim, fast neck profile featuring a thin 'C' contour and 35" extended scale—built for speed and comfort during marathon gigs and studio sessions. The Satin Aurora Burst finish turns heads without sacrificing durability on the road. Anchored by a swamp ash body with burl maple top, this five-string balances modern responsiveness with warm, focused tone that cuts through any mix.
Playability & Construction
The bolt-on maple/walnut multi-ply neck with carbon fiber reinforcement rods stays rock-solid under heavy playing, eliminating neck dive across the extended 35" scale. An ebony fingerboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets and offset/reverse dot inlays delivers fast, confident fret access with a thin 'C' profile measuring 0.787" at the first fret and 0.866" at the twelfth. The 45mm Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut and 16" fretboard radius enable smooth playability and articulate note definition from tight lows to crisp highs.
Tone & Electronics
A pair of EMG pickups—the 40JX-CS at the bridge and 40PX-CS at the neck—drive an active electronics suite featuring Master Volume, Blend, and EMG-B30 3-Band Active EQ with tool-free 9-volt battery access. Live and in the studio, this setup delivers punchy, articulate response with enough tonal shaping to nail everything from aggressive slap to subtle fingerstyle nuance.
