Schecter Riot Basses for Gigging Players

Riot basses are built for the stage. The sleek offset body is made for players who move around, and the neck is designed to be fast, which matters when a set runs heavy and the tempo does not let up. Schecter built this line for rock and metal bassists who need to cut through loud guitars without losing low-end weight.

Choose between the Riot-4 for a classic four-string feel and the Riot-5 if you want the extended low range. Fishman or Schecter electronics give you a wide tonal palette from one instrument, so a single bass can handle a tight pick-driven track and a thick, fingerstyle groove. The Riot Session models in Aged Natural Satin offer a more understated look, and the FreeZesicle Riot-5 in Metallic White stands out on a dark stage.

With prices running from about $949 to $1,449, the range fits working bassists upgrading their main axe and collectors drawn to the finishes. LV Guitars has the current selection below, including Aurora Burst and Inferno Burst options.

Schecter Riot Series Bass Guitars - frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Schecter Riot-4 and Riot-5 basses?

The Riot-4 is the four-string layout for traditional bass players, while the Riot-5 adds a fifth string for low-B range. Both are core models in the Riot series with offset-style bodies and a fast-playing neck. They come in finishes like Aurora Burst and Inferno Burst.

Does the Schecter Riot bass come in a left-handed version?

Yes. The range includes a left-handed Riot-5 Session bass in Aged Natural Satin. Most other Riot models are right-handed, so lefties looking at this series should start with the Session LH. Availability can change, so check the current selection on the page.

Is the Schecter Riot bass a good choice for rock and metal?

It is aimed at exactly that. The Riot series has a sleek offset-style body, a fast-playing neck and plenty of tonal range, with electronics from Fishman or Schecter. It suits players stepping up to a serious bass or adding a second one. Discounted B-Stock Riot-5 units are also sometimes available, fully covered.
