Will this pickup fit my Strat without routing modifications?

Yes. The SSL-3T Hot Tapped features a modern oval bottom flatwork designed specifically for standard single-coil Strat routing, so it drops in with no modification required and preserves your guitar's original cavity and resale value.

How does the dual output switching work?

The pickup offers two switchable output levels: full 'Hot' output for aggressive lead work and sustained clarity, plus a vintage-level output for cleaner, vintage-style tones. This gives you two pickup personalities from a single installation.

What genres and playing styles is this pickup best for?

It excels in hard rock, metal, rock, and blues. The raised flat Alnico 5 pole pieces and 16.4k ohms DC resistance deliver the high-output aggression and sustain those styles demand, while maintaining single-coil snap and definition.

What's included with the pickup?

The SSL-3T comes hand-wound and wax-potted for noise reduction and reliability, with a white cover included to match your guitar's aesthetic.

How does this compare to other high-output Strat pickups?

The SSL-3T bridges single-coil character and humbucker output in a way comparable to pickups like the DiMarzio Virtual Solo and Seymour Duncan JB Jr, but with dual-output flexibility that lets you switch between aggressive and vintage tones without swapping hardware.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?

We collect sales tax only on orders shipped to California. Orders shipped to any other US state are charged $0 sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. Marketplaces such as eBay, Reverb and Amazon collect sales tax in nearly every state as marketplace facilitators no matter who the seller is, so the same item at the same price costs less bought direct. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included. Some states ask buyers to self-report use tax on out-of-state purchases.

Seymour Duncan Humbucker SSL-3T Hot Tapped Flat For Strat Pickup

The SSL-3T Hot Tapped packs humbucker-level output and sustain into a single-coil footprint built for standard Strat routing. Tapped for dual output modes, this pickup gives you aggressive tone for leads and articulate character for cleans—no routing, no compromise. A gigging essential for players who demand flexibility without modifying their instrument.

Tone & Output Flexibility

Switchable output modes mean you nail full "Hot" aggression for solos and pull back to vintage-level clarity for rhythm and cleans. The 16.4k ohms DC resistance and raised flat Alnico 5 pole pieces produce a stronger magnetic field that cuts through live mix with note definition and sustain, while keeping the snap and articulation single-coil players expect.

Design & Installation

The modern oval bottom flatwork seats flush into standard Strat cavities with zero modification—critical for maintaining resale value and keeping your instrument stock. Hand-wound and wax-potted for reliability night after night, with a white cover included so you can match your guitar's look or go with the classic vibe.
