Description
Seymour Duncan Scooped Strat Middle RWRP Parchment Pickup
The Seymour Duncan Scooped Strat Middle RWRP delivers articulate, vintage-voiced single-coil character with a distinctly scooped midrange that cuts through without harshness on stage. Built in the United States, this pickup combines underwound 1950s-style construction with slightly elevated pole pieces to enhance sustain and presence—essential for gigging players who need their tone to project and remain clear in a full band mix. The reverse-wound configuration eliminates hum when paired with standard-wound pickups in a three-pickup setup, a critical feature for live reliability.
Tone & Voice
With a 6.37k DCR and Alnico V magnet, this pickup produces vintage output without sacrificing articulation or clarity. The scooped EQ profile emphasizes treble and bass while pulling back the mids—the kind of voicing that holds its own in a mix, delivering rhythm tones with definition and leads with natural compression and bloom that reads well on a stage.
Construction & Specifications
Wired with cloth push-back cable and 2-conductor wiring, this passive single-coil is ready to drop into any standard Strat middle position. The underwound design and elevated pole height distinguish it from stock units, providing improved dynamic response and harmonic complexity that translates to better feel and responsiveness under your fingers during performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this pickup work in my existing Strat setup without hum issues?
Yes. The RWRP (reverse-wound, reverse-polarity) configuration is specifically designed to eliminate hum when paired with standard-wound neck and bridge pickups in a three-pickup Stratocaster, making it ideal for live and studio use.
What genres does this pickup sound best in?
It's voiced for blues, rock, funk, and country—genres that benefit from the scooped midrange and articulate treble. The enhanced sustain and vintage character work against metal and djent applications where tighter, more aggressive midrange is typically needed.
How does the underwound design affect the tone?
Underwound construction combined with slightly elevated pole pieces delivers improved dynamic response and harmonic complexity compared to stock units, while the 6.37k DCR maintains vintage output without sacrificing clarity or articulation.
What's included in the pickup, and is it ready to install?
The pickup ships with cloth push-back cable wiring and 2-conductor design, ready to drop into any standard Stratocaster middle position. Soldering skills and basic wiring knowledge are required for installation.
