Sound & Tone
The solid spruce top over black walnut back and sides gives this dreadnought a bold, projecting voice with firm low end, clear treble and long sustain — a natural fit for strummed rhythm playing, flatpicking and singer-songwriter work where the guitar needs to fill a room. The split bridge saddle helps keep string-to-string balance even, while the mahogany neck and laurel fingerboard on a 644mm scale keep fingerpicking and chord work responsive, and the Venetian cutaway opens up the upper frets for lead lines. Plugged in, the piezo pickup and TP-4TD preamp with three-band EQ and gain let you shape that acoustic character for stage use without relying on outboard gear.
Takamine GD51CE-NAT Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Natural
The GD51CE sits comfortably in your hands with a slim neck profile and Venetian-style cutaway that cuts through to higher frets without breaking your grip during a set. Solid spruce top matched with black walnut back and sides delivers a big, bold acoustic voice with excellent projection and sustain that carries in any room. Built to survive the road, this guitar balances traditional acoustic character with the amplified versatility you need—plug in or play unplugged and maintain your tone either way.
Construction & Playability
The mahogany neck and laurel fingerboard feel smooth and responsive under your fingers across the 644mm scale with 21 frets. A 42.8mm nut width and synthetic bone nut keep your intonation locked and string spacing where it belongs, while the split bridge saddle ensures balanced tone transfer into the body without dead spots.
Electronics & Amplification
The TP-4TD preamp system handles your amplified needs with a built-in tuner, three-band EQ, and gain controls—everything you need to shape your tone at the mixer and dial in your stage volume without extra boxes. The integrated piezo pickup locks in solid output and stays stable through a full set, with tonal control that doesn't require external processing.
