The AKG APS4 is the backbone infrastructure for gigging musicians and live sound professionals running multi-receiver wireless systems. Built into a rugged half-rack metal housing, this unit consolidates RF signals from multiple antenna sources and distributes them cleanly across up to four receivers without signal loss or interference. For live stages, theater rigs, and broadcast setups where reliable wireless coverage is non-negotiable, the APS4 delivers the solid RF management needed to keep your mics live and your show moving.

Signal Distribution & RF Performance

The APS4 accepts RF input from two independent antenna paths via BNC connectors and distributes that signal across ten RF output BNC sockets, each capable of feeding a separate receiver. Switchable attenuation settings (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 dB) allow precise level matching and prevent overdriving connected receivers, critical when managing multiple units in close proximity. The system operates across the extended 470–952 MHz frequency range, covering UHF wireless microphone bands used worldwide.

Power Management & Expandability

The rear panel antenna inputs supply 10 VDC to power up to three active antenna elements per signal path, eliminating the need for separate antenna power supplies on compatible active antennas. Two additional antenna outputs allow cascading of up to three further APS4 units for large-scale multi-zone installations. Note that this variant ships without its external 12 VDC power supply, which must be sourced separately.
