Description
AKG LC617 MD Black Lavalier Condenser Microphone
The AKG LC617 MD is an exceptionally compact lavalier condenser microphone built for hands-free, discreet audio capture in live performance and professional sound reinforcement. Its diminutive form factor—measuring just 0.75 inches long and weighing 5.3 grams—stays virtually hidden once clipped to clothing, while its robust construction handles the demands of touring, theater gigs, and live events without compromise. This back-electret condenser delivers consistent, clear audio ideal for wireless mic setups, broadcast work, and any application where reliability and invisibility matter equally.
Design & Build
Built for the road and the stage, the LC617 MD features RF shielding and moisture resistance to keep interference and environmental exposure from ruining a performance. The omnidirectional capsule ensures consistent pickup no matter how the performer moves or orients their body, and the included MDA1 AKG adapter connector makes it plug-and-play with standard wireless bodypack transmitters. The package includes a foam windscreen for wind and handling noise rejection, a tie clip for secure positioning, and a protective zip bag for transport between venues.
Audio Performance
The microphone delivers a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz with sensitivity of 7 mV/Pa, capturing natural, intelligible speech and vocal performance with plenty of headroom for dynamic singers and speakers. A maximum SPL of 115 dB means it won't distort or feedback even in loud stage or amplified environments, while the 60 dB A-weighted signal-to-noise ratio and 34 dB equivalent noise level keep the audio clean and hiss-free during quiet moments and between songs.
