The JBL 4732-M/HF is the upper mid-high frequency section of JBL's professional three-way ScreenArray cinema loudspeaker system. This fully assembled cabinet delivers the midrange and high-frequency output required for premiere cinema installations, studio production, and post-production facilities where precise directivity and consistent coverage are non-negotiable. Note: this is the upper cabinet only; the low-frequency section (JBL 4739, sold separately) is required to complete a functional 4732 system.

Acoustic Design & Coverage

The 4732-M/HF achieves a 107 dB SPL sensitivity (or 109 dB MF / 115 dB HF in tri-amplified mode) through its carefully matched driver array: four 165H 6.5-inch midrange transducers paired with a single 2432H 3-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver. Horizontal coverage spans 90 degrees with vertical patterns of 20 degrees up and 30 degrees down, ensuring controlled dispersion across the theater or control room without lobing or hot spots in the listening plane.

Power Handling & Impedance Configuration

This section handles 200 W AES (100-hour) with a 400 W recommended amplifier rating for the midrange, while high-frequency handling is rated 85 W AES with 200 W recommended—typical for compression driver protection. The 4 ohm nominal impedance (or 4 ohm MF / 8 ohm HF in tri-amp mode) integrates seamlessly into both bi-amplified and tri-amplified configurations, allowing flexible routing through external crossovers at 250 Hz (bi-amp) or 250 Hz and 1.2 kHz (tri-amp).
