EMG 35HZ Passive Soapbar Pickup in Black
The EMG 35HZ is a compact passive soapbar pickup engineered for players seeking articulate, controlled tone without onboard electronics. Its dual-coil design and ceramic bar magnet construction deliver clarity and definition across the frequency spectrum, making it a straightforward drop-in replacement for standard soapbar cavities.
Design & Build Quality
Constructed with a metal top, basswood back, and alloy steel pole pieces, this pickup features a powder-coated black finish that resists wear and corrosion. The 3.5-inch housing length and 88.9mm width fit standard soapbar routes; mounting requires 82.6mm screw spacing and 22.4mm installation depth, accommodating most modern instrument designs.
Electrical Performance
The 8.0 kOhm DC resistance and 2.65 Henry inductance characteristic of this passive design provide balanced output suitable for standard guitar amplifier inputs without requiring batteries or active circuits. This architecture ensures reliable performance and eliminates the maintenance overhead of powered pickups.
