EMG FB Active Bass Pickup Set in Black
The EMG FB Active Bass Pickup Set is Frank Bello's signature contribution to EMG's active pickup lineup, delivering the aggressive, articulate tone favored by modern metal and hard rock bass players. This P/J configuration balances aggressive low-end punch with cutting midrange clarity, making it an ideal retrofit for bassists seeking professional-grade active electronics without the hassle of extensive rewiring.
Active Electronics & Power
Powered by a 9V battery and paired with EMG's X series active preamp, this set provides low-noise amplification and onboard tone shaping that responds immediately to your playing dynamics. The solderless wiring system included with the set significantly reduces installation complexity—the entire active circuit integrates via plug-and-play connectors rather than traditional solder joints.
Pickup Configuration & Tonal Character
The pairing of the PCSX neck pickup and LJAX bridge pickup creates a versatile tonal palette: the neck position yields warm, defined lows and mids, while the bridge delivers aggressive highs and articulate note definition. Blending both pickups offers a balanced, punchy character suited to tight rhythm work and fast lead passages alike.
