What makes the GTV different from other EMG metal pickups like the 81/85?

The GTV is Glenn Tipton's signature set engineered specifically for the articulate, punchy tone that defined Judas Priest's sound. It shares EMG's active technology and high output, but is voiced differently to deliver exceptional clarity and sustain in high-gain applications while maintaining dynamic response across the frequency spectrum.

What's included in the box?

You get two active humbucker pickups, a complete wiring harness with battery bus, stereo output jack, and pickup in/out buses, two 25k volume potentiometers and two 25k tone potentiometers (10mm long shaft), mounting screws, springs, pickup cables, and all connecting cables needed for a full retrofit.

Is solderless wiring really reliable for gigging and recording?

Yes—EMG's solderless connection system is designed to eliminate complex wiring without compromising performance or reliability. The system ensures consistent active performance with minimal noise, making it dependable for both live use and studio sessions.

Will these pickups fit any guitar?

The GTV set integrates into standard guitar cavities with the included 10mm long-shaft potentiometers. You should verify your guitar is routed for dual humbuckers and has room for the active battery circuit before purchasing.

What genres are these pickups best suited for?

The GTV excels in metal, hard rock, thrash metal, and other high-gain applications where aggressive tone, clarity, and punch are essential. They are not recommended for jazz, blues, or folk styles.
