EMG GTV Long Shaft Active Humbucker Pickup Set in Red

The set includes a bridge and neck humbucker with red caps, dual 25k volume and tone potentiometers, battery bus, stereo output jack, pickup cables, connection cables, mounting screws, and springs—everything needed for a complete drop-in installation.

The GTV is optimized for metal, hard rock, progressive, and drop-tuning applications. Its high output and aggressive character make it less ideal for jazz, folk, or blues, where warmer, more nuanced tones are typically preferred.

The GTV runs on battery power, which provides consistent output, noise rejection, and the responsiveness active electronics offer. The solderless connection architecture simplifies wiring, and the 18.7mm long-shaft potentiometers fit standard guitar control layouts without modification.

Both are active EMG humbuckers, but the GTV combines ceramic and steel magnets for articulate clarity and is positioned as a complete all-in-one system with included wiring and potentiometers, whereas the 81/85 is a modular option often chosen for classic high-output tones.

The solderless connection system and complete harness simplify installation, making the set accessible to beginners and intermediate players; advanced and professional users will appreciate the faster setup and reduced troubleshooting.
