What does the EMG PJ Active Bass Pickup Set include?

The set includes a complete P-J pickup pair in red finish, a solderless wiring harness with dual 25K volume potentiometers and one 25K tone control, stereo output jack, battery cable, all necessary connecting cables, and mounting hardware. Everything needed for installation is included.

How long does a 9-volt battery last in this system?

The set draws only 380 microamperes at 9V, meaning a standard 9-volt battery will provide extended playing time—exact duration depends on your playing style and battery capacity, but the low current draw prioritizes long battery life between changes.

What genres and playing styles is this pickup set best suited for?

This set is designed for funk, jazz, rock, studio sessions, and gigging. The punchy midrange and articulate response excel in styles where clarity and defined note attack are essential; it is not voiced for folk or country applications.

How does the active tone compare to passive pickups?

The active ceramic magnet design delivers -106 dBV noise performance, 2.00V output in standard mode and 8.0V in thump mode, and a 3.20 kHz resonant frequency tuned for transparent midrange clarity. Active electronics provide more headroom, lower noise, and consistent signal transmission to your amplifier compared to typical passive configurations.

Is soldering required to install this pickup set?

No—the complete solderless wiring harness eliminates the need for soldering, making installation straightforward and accessible for most bass players. All connections use pre-assembled cables and connectors.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?
