What does 'prewired' mean, and will it fit my guitar?

The pickguard arrives fully assembled with all three RA-2 pickups, controls, and switching wired and tested; you simply drop it into any Stratocaster with an 11-hole standard layout. No soldering or wiring required—just connect it and play.

How does the active noiseless design work compared to standard single coils?

Active electronics and Alnico II magnets combine to cancel electromagnetic interference and 60-cycle hum while preserving the articulate, vintage-output character of true single coils. You get clarity and definition without the noise that passive designs suffer from.

What genres and playing styles is this designed for?

The RA2 Pro excels in classic rock, blues, pop, and indie—genres where vintage single-coil tone and clean articulation are essential. It is not suited for metal or djent, where higher output and darker tone profiles are typically preferred.

Is this made in the USA, and what magnets does it use?

Yes, the RA2 Pro is made in the USA and features Alnico II magnets, which ensure consistent tonal refinement and the vintage character that defines its voice across all three positions.

What controls and switching options are included?

The assembly includes volume control, tone control, and a 5-way selector switch with standard Stratocaster voicing: bridge, bridge+middle, middle, middle+neck, and neck positions.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?

Sales tax is collected only on orders shipped to California; orders shipped to any other US state are not charged sales tax at checkout when you buy direct from our website. At a typical 7% rate that is an estimated $21 less at checkout than the same listed price on a marketplace, which collects sales tax as the facilitator in most states. Buyers remain responsible for any use tax their state applies. Free US shipping and 30-day returns are included.

EMG RA2 Pro Retro Active Prewired Pickguard Pickup in White

The EMG RA2 Pro delivers articulate, noise-free single-coil response in a complete plug-and-play package. This prewired white pickguard strips away installation hassle while preserving the vintage character and clarity that define classic Stratocaster tones. The active noiseless design eliminates hum without sacrificing definition, making it ideal for players who demand clean, controllable output across all positions on stage and in the studio.

Active Noiseless Design & Output

Three RA-2 single-coil pickups voice each position—bridge, middle, and neck—with distinct resonant frequencies for balanced response across the board. The active noiseless single-coil architecture cancels electromagnetic interference while maintaining genuine vintage-output character, so you get the clarity and articulation needed for live performance without the 60-cycle hum that plagues passive designs and muddles your tone under stage lights.
