What's included in this set?

The package includes both neck and bridge pickups, two 500K volume potentiometers, two 500K tone potentiometers, a stereo output jack, a complete solderless wiring harness, and mounting hardware.

Are these pickups good for metal or high-gain styles?

No; these pickups are voiced for classic rock, hard rock, blues, and studio work. They prioritize warmth, articulation, and clarity rather than the aggressive output and saturation preferred in metal and djent.

How do the neck and bridge pickups differ?

The neck pickup (13.8 KOhm, 250 Gauss) produces warm, full-bodied tones with smooth response, while the bridge pickup (13.5 KOhm, 300 Gauss) delivers articulate definition and controlled sustain with slightly brighter response. Both share the same Alnico 2 magnet type and vintage voicing.

Do I need soldering experience to install these?

No; the solderless wiring harness and 4-conductor plus shield design streamline installation for both experienced technicians and hobbyists without extensive wiring skills.

How do these compare to other passive humbuckers like the Seymour Duncan 59?

The Revelation pickups deliver a similarly warm, vintage-voiced character with balanced neck-to-bridge pairing. They're engineered for hum-free performance and include a complete installation package, making them a straightforward choice for players seeking classic tone without active electronics.

Do I pay sales tax on this order?

EMG Revelation Passive Humbucker Pickup Set in Gold

The EMG Revelation passive humbucker set delivers the warmth and harmonic complexity of vintage-voiced pickups without the noise floor of traditional designs. Built on Alnico 2 magnets, these covered humbuckers offer a balanced, articulate response across the frequency spectrum. This set includes everything needed for a complete installation: potentiometers, output jack, and solderless wiring harness.

Tone & Output Characteristics

The neck pickup produces 13.8 KOhm DC resistance with 8.00 Henries inductance and a resonant frequency of 3.25 KHz, yielding warm, full-bodied leads and smooth rhythm tones that cut through on stage without getting lost in the mix. The bridge pickup measures 13.5 KOhm with 7.16 Henries inductance and a 3.41 KHz resonant peak, providing articulate definition and controlled sustain without excessive brightness—the kind of responsive attack that makes live performance feel natural, whether you're digging into classic rock or pushing into contemporary styles that demand clarity and presence.

Design & Specifications

The 4-conductor plus shield wiring supports flexible configuration options, while the solderless connectivity streamlines installation for experienced techs and hobbyists alike. Gauss readings of 250 (neck) and 300 (bridge) at the pole pieces ensure balanced output between positions and consistent performance night after night. Both pickups arrive covered, maintaining the vintage aesthetic while reducing electromagnetic interference—essential for reliable, quiet operation on any stage.
