Description
EMG S/S/89 Active Single Coil Pickup Set in Ivory
This three-pickup configuration delivers versatile tonal range by combining two responsive single-coil pickups with EMG's dual-mode 89 for adaptive humbucker and single-coil voicing. The ivory finish integrates cleanly into vintage-styled instruments while maintaining the clarity and articulation demanded by players working across blues, rock, and alternative genres. Active circuitry ensures consistent output and minimal noise floor across all positions—essential for gigging musicians who need reliable, predictable tone night after night.
Tonal Character & Stage Performance
The paired single coils deliver bright, articulate highs with natural dynamics and responsive pick attack, cutting through a live mix while staying articulate in the studio. The 89 bridges the gap between traditional single-coil shimmer and controlled humbucker thickness, giving you flexibility across your setlist. Active EMG circuitry provides a hot, even signal with minimal environmental noise—critical for live performance and recording situations where signal integrity and repeatability matter most.
Installation & Compatibility
This set is engineered for standard three-pickup single-coil routing found on Stratocaster-style instruments and comparable designs. EMG's active design requires a battery compartment and preamp cavity; installation demands attention to wiring but rewards the builder with professional-grade electronic performance and the reliability you need on the road.
