The set includes two SA single-coil pickups (neck and middle), one 85 humbucker (bridge), the EMG Solderless Install System with integrated potentiometers and battery compartment, and all necessary components for drop-in installation. No soldering required.

The battery provides approximately 3000 hours of operation at 9V, with maximum headroom available up to 27V DC supply. This translates to roughly 125 days of continuous use on a single 9V battery.

The SA/SA/85 set is optimized for hard rock, metal, and progressive genres and is not recommended for jazz or folk playing styles. The active system and tonal character are designed for aggression, sustain, and cut-through rather than warm, traditional clean tones.

The low-impedance preamp architecture with internal shielding produces output noise at -101 dBV (60 Hz), eliminating hum and buzz. This shielding and active design ensure clarity and definition in dense, layered mixes.

Active electronics deliver higher output voltage (1.00V single string, 3.00V strum on SA pickups), lower noise, and exceptional headroom compared to passive systems. The solderless installation also speeds setup versus traditional wired passive pickups.
